(AsiaGameHub) –   LaLiga North America has established a multi-year partnership with the US prediction market platform Polymarket. This agreement marks a pioneering step for a leading European football league by appointing a prediction market operator as an official regional partner.

Announced last Thursday, this exclusive collaboration applies to the United States and Canada, providing Polymarket with the authority to operate LaLiga-related prediction market activities in these regions.

As part of the deal, Polymarket will receive visibility in broadcasts, opportunities in digital and social media programming, and the authorization to utilize LaLiga and club intellectual property connected to matches and tournaments.

The alliance also includes distinctive fan engagement activities, such as VIP match hospitality and virtual interactions with former players.

LaLiga North America’s commercial growth initiative has been in progress since 2018 through a 20-year joint venture with Relevent, the entity managing the league’s strategic expansion across the continent.

Current regional sponsors for the league feature prominent consumer names such as Walmart, McDonald’s, and Verizon. Polymarket’s inclusion adds a betting-related and engagement-focused offering to this sponsor lineup.

According to Polymarket founder and CEO Shayne Coplan, the partnership is designed to enhance the viewing experience for LaLiga supporters.

“We aim to offer fans a more interactive method to follow the sport, allowing their views on players, games, and seasonal results to be represented instantly,” Coplan stated.

“Aligning with LaLiga delivers this interactive dimension to one of the world’s most enthusiastic fan communities and presents a novel, more vibrant approach for North American viewers to connect with the league.”

Another sports deal for Polymarket

The LaLiga agreement represents the most recent in a series of sports partnerships for Polymarket as it expands quickly within the US market.

In October, the National Hockey League appointed Polymarket and its rival Kalshi as official prediction market partners, making it the first major US sport to form a commercial relationship with such platforms.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship formed a partnership with Polymarket the next month, and Major League Baseball also designated the prediction market as an official partner in March of this year.
